By now many of you know that even though I don’t live in my hometown of New York City, I love to write about it. I just discovered some interesting stories that have to do with Times Square. Riding the subway in the corridor between the N, R, Q, and W subway lines and the S platform at the 42nd Street Times Square station, you’ll find an art gallery of sorts. There are handmade ceramic reliefs created by sculptor Toby Buonagurio, who lives in the Bronx.
Altogether there are 35 works of art, which were installed in 2005, depicting New York street scenes. You can see things like a woman with cat-eye glasses, wearing red gloves and a tropical fruit charm bracelet, looking at a subway map, and in another scene a kid offering a huge dollar bill for a hot dog, among other amazing depictions. So if you happen to be in the city, do go to take a look at this amazing artwork.
Sounds interesting to me since at the time I lived there, many of the subway stations were just run down, and the faster you got your train and got back up above, the better.

I've never been in New York City and wouldn't like being underground on a subway even if I went there. (I've driven around New York twice.)

@DaddyEvil it is funny that if you live in NYC, you do not think twice about it just go down into the subway and get to your destination. However, these days i was wondering if I would still feel OK about going down under but now with the artwork improvements, I think I would anyway

@RasmaSandra I don't like being underground. I'd have a problem with it even if it wasn't dangerous. (I don't like riding in someone else's vehicle... I prefer to drive myself to the places I need to go.)

@AmbiePam in my time it was getting pretty rundown with lots of awful graffiti so I like that things are improving

I am sure it attracts attention. Hoe old were you when you moved to New York?

I've heard of the artwork in those tunnels. I bet we could see it all on a site somewhere if we knew where to look.
