Some people are sensitive. Why labelling them first?

I've read about sensitive and high sensitive people and it's no joke. They are sensitive to emotions, sounds, lights, all sort of things.
I had a chance to witness a child being called a sensitive by their parents but i had an impression that it's easier for parents to repeat the child is sensitive then to listen how the child is doing or later, when he grows up, his own experience. Watching one French movie last year, i remember the main female character said to her mother when she called her sensitive; you know what, i've always been sensitive and i'm fine with that, something like that.
People are not sensitive the same way and they feel embarassed or maybe feel they have to hide their sensitivity. Remembering my childhood school days, we had a boy who cried with no reason and he was sensitive but all the boys supported him, even the teachers. On the other hand, when one girl was sensitive, they just brushed it off. She cried for little things but for bigger, even for bullying her, she didn't.
And yes, sadly, those were the times when boys like to hit the girls and teachers weren't that strict, like today. I always hated the saying whoever is fighting, it must be a true love.
So, yes, back to sensitive people. Your opinion?

I have always been sensitive, unlike my brother. I tell people that I wear my heart on my sleeve, and he wears his under ten layers of clothing.
