Feeling like a Vulture But It Has To Be Done

Mother-in-Law will be moving to a Memory Care facility in just a week and she can only take 1/3 of her most essential belongings. That leaves an apartment full of furniture and household items that need good homes. So I've made a list of everything MIL owns and texted it to the brother-in-law for he and his wife and kids to mark whatever they want and "call dibs" on it now because we have such a short turnaround time and anything the family doesn't want has to be donated to charity. It feels a little vulture-ish, but what is the alternative? It's very practical to make the list and hand out the items to people who want them.
