Snowmageddon is Headed Our Way

United States
January 21, 2026 7:12pm CST
From everything I'm hearing and seeing on tv, weather apps, weather radar, weather blogs, etc., my city is going to be part of this massive snowstorm hitting from the Carolinas all the way into Maine. The thought is that we're going to get 9-11 inches on Saturday and another 9-11 inches on Sunday. That could be 2 feet! It's still too soon to know which way it's going to turn within a 100 mile track to know it we're going to get hit hard or not. Right now they're saying we're getting the snow and not the ice, but that could change. Are you in the path of Snowmageddon coming this weekend?

We are expecting a mixture of ice, sleet and snow. Probably ice will be the worst of it. Normally we lose power with the ice and then our water if power stays out too long.

Yes. We are supposed to get over 6 inches of s**w. Those in southern Ohio could get over 12. The deep south of the US is supposed to get ice. Stay safe and warm.

I've been hearing & seeing the same thing myself & I'm not sure if we're going to get hit but I know it's going to get SUPER COLD & that's not good for vehicles & pipes or pets or the elderly.

Around 4am Friday the snow starts, and then sleet, and will taper off Monday afternoon. Our total snowfall should not get more than a foot.

yes, but where i live it might be half freezing rain which will almost certainly lead to power outages.

Yikes! You could be getting hit hard. We are supposed to have freezing rain and possible snow this weekend. Stay in and stay safe.

We're in the outer edge of what The Weather Channel is showing so... maybe... It's supposed to start here Friday afternoon and end on Sunday. We shall see. (There is an 80 to 90% chance of snow during that entire time.) Pretty and I stocked up on groceries today but I'll still need to go shopping tomorrow for some things that the store seems to be out of.

Will America come to a standstill with this snow that is going to happen? We grond to a halt with a small fraction of the amount you will get Wonder how we managed in the 60,s and 70,s when there was more snow every month than we get in a year now
