Busy day …..school pick up and dentist…..for the Grandkids

Well, we thought we were going to have a lazy day …..up late last night ….early morning really, so had a lie in, not intentional, but we just didn’t wake up too early. The Mister is still off work at the moment so we are not clock watching.
Anyway, phone call mid afternoon, can we pick up Granddaughter from school, take her to her Mom, then take Grandson to the dentist.
Yep, no problem.
Race to get to the school as two lots of traffic road works but made it with 2 minutes to spare.
Grandson needed a check up and a front tooth building up ….an accident a few years ago means he is constantly having to have this done.
Anyway, all is sorted now.
Nice to see the Grandkids during the week.

It’s only 12:18pm here, so I just ate lunch. I took my dog for a very long walk since tomorrow the snowstorm is coming, and she’ll likely be forced to be cooped up for a few days. I checked my mail and saw my absentee ballot came. I need to look up the two candidates for my ward running for city council. One of the candidates actually came to my apartment so he’s got a head start in respect. That’s a lot of work for a candidate to do!

I'm glad you could help your daughter and the grandkids out today. 
I'm cooking stuff that's easy to store because of the coming snow storms. If the power goes out, I don't want us to starve until the power gets fixed. I made a big batch of sloppy Joe meat yesterday and will make some pasta and hamburger in a little while. (I can always freeze the sloppy Joe if we don't eat it soon.) I also have chicken, broccoli and cheese soup in the fridge we can eat cold, too. (I can also freeze it if we don't use it up over the weekend.)
Right now I'm making sure all the power cells are fully charged. I have four charging, just in case. (Last time we had a power outage, Pretty used all the power cells up trying to stay online. I only kept my phone charged so we could get calls/texts if we needed to talk to anyone. But my phone has a huge battery that will stay charged for 6 days if I don't use it online.)

Great that you are thinking ahead …re the power . A lot of people might not and then get caught out. …..I’m thinking of people in this country .

@Traceyjayne Pretty has power banks but none of them were charged during the last power outage. I'll have to remember to tell her she should check hers, too.

Grandparents are a real godsend for busy parents. Now that it's usually either both parents working or lots of single parent families, childcare becomes a real issue.

I don’t drive and my bus pass doesn’t get me as far as I would need to go to pick them up …so we were only able to get them as The Mister is still on holiday from work. He is back on Monday . We do try and help out when we can.

Oh aye what a busy day I have had .
You wouldn't believe just how busy.
Parcels arriving, wow, why is nobody else at home to take in their own parcels?
Can't they organise a delivery window and be in like we do.
I'm away to log out , be back soon
Something I got to see - on the news there was something about flooding.
