It Has Snowed 9 Inches So Far And It's Still Falling

Yeah, there's 9 inches of snow on the ground on top of several inches of sleet which is on top of earlier snow.
We're expecting another round of snow on Wednesday, but not until the evening hopefully because we have to move mother-in-law into Memory Care Wednesday morning.
It's 24F degrees but "feels like" 11F degrees. We're under an extreme cold warning and the White Flags are out indicating the homeless shelters are open. There are "warming centers" around the community. It's going to have a wind chill of 10-20 below zero Fahrenheit overnight.
I don't normally have anything against Winter, but with this upcoming move, it's hampering our ability to plan.

Glad I live by the airport, because they only have four inches on the ground there. But one inch of sn*w is too much for my old bones!

You aren't old, dear. You never will be. Maybe in years, but not in spirit.

We're in the teens and getting sleet, but it's been fairly light. I'm just really grateful the power is still on. Stay safe!

We are to get more snow on Wednesday, too. I hope your MIL is doing ok during all of this, too.

Just be glad you've got power and heat and a warm dry house to huncker down in.

I'm glad your community is prepared for the snow and has some places ready for the homeless. There are a couple of churches that are open for people needing a place to go to get warm but they'll close up after it gets dark. We don't have any homeless shelters here. People needing shelter are taken to Springfield (about 70 miles away) to the shelters up there.
Thankfully, we missed the main ice (we did get a little sleet before the snow started) and didn't have any freezing rain here but we did get a little over a foot of snow. It's 10F with a RealFeel of -3F at the moment. We're still getting some snowfall but the flakes are tiny and blowing around in the wind. I don't think they'll amount to much more.

9 inches is quite a lot.
I don't fancy 9 inches to be honest..
I couldn't walk in it.
And it will be messy when it melts.
Gald to hear homeless shelters and warming centers are open
