Trying a New Coffee Mug This Morning

I knew I wasn't going to like it, and I don't.
My friend gave it to me for Christmas.
The brand is "Simple Modern" which is supposed to be a trendy brand that is metal insulated and keeps hot things hot and cold things cold.
It's got a push button on the top to let you take a sip out of the travel coffee mug. Then you push the button back up to keep the coffee hot and to keep it from spilling.
I don't like it. I can't tell when the coffee is about to reach my lips. Not enough coffee comes out at a time. It's a cute design and a cute color, but no, just no.
I wouldn't recommend it.
UPDATE: I just took the lid off and I like it much better without the lid, but that defeats the purpose

I am not familiar with that brand of cup. Several years ago, my oldest son bought me a Contigo cup for my endless cups of coffee when I am on the run. I absolutely love that cup. It has an easy lock, it doesn't leak, and is super easy to drink out of, too. It keeps hot, hot. And cold, cold. He bought me a second one so that I could have a spare. Plus, the Contigo cups are all configured to the same lid, so if a person needs a new lid they can just buy that part.

A friend gave me something similar and I don’t use my lid either.

I have a similar one and can say I agree with you I have to take the lid off too in order to drink from it. But, on the plus side it does keep my coffee really hot when it's closed.
