I am always amazed to read just how big the sun really is. I tend to forget. But here's some stats:
* It is made up of hydrogen and helium.
* It is the center of our solar system.
* The circumference of the sun is 2,715,396 miles and a diameter of 864,938 miles. That a big boy!
* It's about 10,000 degrees Fahrenheit on the surface.
* Due to nuclear reactions it is 27 million degrees at its core. As much as 100 tons of dynamite every second.
* In about 5 million years the sun will run out of hydrogen and collapse into a white dwarf about the same size as the Earth is now.
* 1,000 Jupiter's could fit inside.
