How I love the name of this dance; it sounds so exotic. Lambada is a popular dance style that originated in Brazil in the 1980s. The style was influenced by traditional rhythms like forró and carimbó, mixing in Caribbean styles like salsa and merengue. At this point I feel like saying, "Put it all in a big pot and let it simmer." Lambada gained international fame in the late 1980s and early 1990s and is often referred to as "the forbidden dance" due to its provocative nature

IN the early 90s ballroom dancing was a huge thing in my country. I remember there was a dance instructor who would regularly visit our home to teach us chaccha, the waltz and all those ball room dances and because lambada was so popular, we were taught that too.
My mom loved dancing to lambada and she enjoyed dancing it in all the parties we went too. And since my dad wasn't a really good dancer, my mom danced with friends instead. It wasn't similar to the lambada dances that looked like dirty dancing though. It's as just mostly the saying of the hips but no touching at all. And the swaying of the hips were subtle. Well, we live in a very conservative country but then we enjoy lambada in our own way.

It looks a beautiful fast dance. The dancer has to agile and swift.

It's quite proactive right enough.
I've seen some sexy ladies wearing really short skirts doing this dance.
Yay for the Lambada

@JudyEv I tried doing the dirty dancing craze and sprained an ankle so now I won't ever try but I love to remember.
