Came home to this on Sunday

This is what I came home to late Sunday evening after my Broadway show. Everything in high amount of snow. Couldn’t see where the first step of the porch was or where the sidewalk was for that matter. I had no idea how I was going to get inside my house. I remembered I had a plastic bag in my handbag. I put that on my hand so I don’t wet my glove and used that hand to clear out a small path for me to my door. It wasn’t easy but I saw no other way to do that. Just trying to walk through that high snow may have led me to fall and injure myself. Didn’t want to risk it.

Not really. My mother once went through our front door to go out and landed on a 10 feet tall drift. We thought we had lost her And that would have been bad, she hadn't served the soup?

@toniganzon Yes it was up well over my head when I pretended to enthusiastically and hopefully look for her

Me too! I did lose my balance at one point walking home from the train. Was trying to get onto the sidewalk from the road. It was not a clear path. Lots of snow. I stepped on it and lost my balance. Fell on my hands.

@Ineeddentures it’s a townhouse. Have neighbors on both sides. I’d prefer semi-attached or standalone house. But honestly I’d rather live in an apartment, especially since I’m alone.

Scooping out a path with my hands wasn’t easy.

I was. Didn’t expect not to see the stairs at all. Or the sidewalk.
