~The Lie I Believed For 20 Years!~

Hey y'all! I hope you're having an amazing day. =) One lie I have believed almost all of my life is I would never drive. I didn't think I was good enough, I didn't think I could do it. I always thought I would have to depend on others for a ride everywhere-which I hated since I felt like I'm a burden to those around me... Yesterday my best friend called and asked if I wanted to take my driving test today. I was excited, nervous and not expecting that but I said YES. Ready or not, I was going there this afternoon! And...I PASSED! 41 years old and getting my license for the first time! You are never too old to learn something new and to do something new. =) Another lie I overcame on this healing journey. I am so grateful to the Lord for His strength.

@thislittlepennyearns I can't believe you KNEW that from my posts! You must have dealt with a narcissist before. And for that I am truly sorry! Only people who have experienced it first hand can recognize them and their behaviors.

Congratulations! I really regret never having even tried to get a driver license. It would be useful now that my husband health is not good.

@LadyDuck If you have medical problems I would agree with that, otherwise I don't think we are ever too old to learn or do something new!

@LovingMyBabies In later years I went to college. I had to give it up because I moved away and never finished what I started.

Good for you, for following through and learning and getting it done. We are never done learning or striving for what we need to do, I know it has to feel really good to accomplish this for the first time.

@LovingMyBabies When a person is ''talked down'' to for years and belittled, insulted, whatever...it takes some time to climb out of that mindset and regain confidence in yourself. You keep on, you will get there!
