Is it true that you'll know from the start if you want to be with that someone romantically? / myLot

I have someone right now, and on my part, I am still trying to get to know him more, so I don't want to rush a relationship with him. And, on his part, he doesn't want to rush it because, just like me, he wants to know me more and finish our studies first, and have a stable job. One of our friends' friends told us that maybe the reason why my guy doesn't want to commit is that he doesn't see me as someone who'll be with him in the future. I asked my guy about this, and he said that his truth is not our truth. What applies to him will not always apply to us or to others. How about you? Do you believe that you'll know from the start if you want to be with someone for the rest of your life?

I thought so for 6 years until I met my husband. We got to know each other when I was 19, got engaged at the end of my junior year in college, and married the summer I graduated. And we’re still married and have grandchildren in high school.

This is a nice story. To be with someone you really love for a long time. I think you forgive each other a lot as much as you love each other a lot.

I think knowing that can take time and other times you might just be blessed to find the right person at the right time.

I do not believe at all you should know from the start. Some people certainly do, but for most, it takes time. This is also wise behavior. There is no rush to forever.

Me too. My guy and I became friends first before confessing to each other that we developed feelings for each other. It takes 2 years for us to realize that. And now, we are still figuring out if what we feel is really love and if we deserve to be in each other's lives.

Some know from the start but certainly not all do. Every couple is different. Some can't stand each other when they first meet but later learn more about each other and form a different opinion.

Yes. I believe when we don't rush things, there are more chances that it is the right choice. Slowly but surely. Hahaha
