@Ineeddentures I can't speak for other counteries, but the "used by" date is a suggestion. Marking the so-called peak of freshness.

@kaylachan I don't pay that much attention to these days because nothing is ever here long enough to go off. But I would know if it was off by using my nose and my eyes

Our fridge is not as full as yours. The grocery store is at walking distance, I like not to put too much stuff in the fridge.

@Ineeddentures That an empty fridge consumes more electricity is an old myth. My fridge is not empty, just enough to keep it running smoothly.

Well Anna , everything in this town is within walking distance But a fridge costs less.to run when it's full Yvonne says that is just an excuse for me to have a good mountain here at home

@LadyDuck An old Myth??? Really!! Oh well an old myth is an excellent excuse for me to keep all my favorite foods fresh in one place Yvonne believed me when I said the fridge was best full. Or maybe she just agreed because it was easier to Lol

Yes I agree I imagine being a mum of 4 would mean you would need to have a full fridge all of the time so you could feed your kids properly because you are a good mum

@cuttyrish Yes I can relate to that as well Costs a fortune does kids making their own snacks

@Ineeddentures I can no longer cook or bake; so I rely on cousin #2 making sandwiches for me; and I occasionally will eat a frozen dinner.

@LindaOHio You need someone to cook you some healthy home cooked dinners like I cook for Yvonne. A frozen dinner is ok now and then. But I would need 2 or 3 of them at once as they ain't very big

I'm sure that you have valid reasons for that.

That's good. Better full than empty. I like filling it regularly. It's fun shopping to fill it.

It's nowhere near as full as this but I don't have to contend with ice and snow so that probably makes a difference.
