Doing The Lurch

There I was, listening to oldies and working on my PC. Suddenly I hear the gravelly voice of Lurch. Do you remember Lurch, the Addams Family butler? “You rang?” Well, in the 1960s there was also a dance called "The Lurch," and since I was still a child, it sort of slipped by me. I have included the video, and the actor who played Lurch, Ted Cassidy, does a great job. The lyrics and music are by Gary Paxton.

I remember the Lurch character from the television series "The Addams Family" but not the Lurch dance.

I remember that song! And that dance! Always loved Gomez reading the newspaper while standing on his head.

I've never watched the show but have seen photos of the actors etc from time to time. Lurch certainly has a gravelly voice.
