Oliver is at the Emergency Vet

United States
February 4, 2026 8:03am CST
We went to four different pet stores yesterday to try to buy cat laxative, but none of them carried it. We drove to two different vet clinics yesterday and they wouldn't sell it to us because we weren't clients and when we tried to make an appointment to have Oliver seen, they couldn't see him for 3 more weeks. So hubby is with Oliver now at the Emergency Vet Clinic, which is going to cost us an arm and a leg, but Oliver is our baby and we will get him taken care of no matter what.

Hope Oliver will be OK. Canned pumpkin works great for cat laxative.

Yeah, we got some and he won't eat them. He won't eat canned food. He only eats dry food, which is probably a big part of the problem. I don't know if we only put canned food down if he'd eventually eat it if he was starving or not.

@snowy22315 It's $1200 just to see him, not counting what they do to him

I never even thought of cat laxative being a 'thing'. Gosh that's tough.
