Nico and I were just watching Games for Cats on Youtube. What was funny about that though is that I said "Alexa, put on games for cats on youtube." Nick knew what I was saying and looked right at the TV. Somehow, he seems to realize Alexa controls the TV..and of course it isn't that surprising he understood Games for cats, but nonetheless the whole episode wad surprising. Do your pets ever surprise you with what they know?

@DianneN My lat cat was a gray and white tux. I thought he was exceptionally smart as well. However, Nico puts some serious effort into turning the doorknobs. The other cat never did that as far as I can remember.

Seems funny they could figure it out. Cats that live with people are pretty attuned to language though.

When he wants to be he still doesn't seem to get opening the door at the bottom though to go into a room. He will wait for his human assistant to open them for him.

Actually I think animals are very smart and understand why more than they let on
It's interesting that Nico understood Alexa and watches Games for Cats.

To be honest, I was more interested in the games than he was. I think he was sleepy..comes from getting u p early and meowing..serves him right..

We always had dogs; and I was always amazed at how much they understood.

Yes, their vocabulary is a bit higher than cats I think, but cats are smarter in other ways. The invisible fence guy told me they don't work well with cats because they are problem solvers. In reality, I think they probably just leap over them.

@snowy22315 We had a Pomeranian mix that would get out of the yard every time we let him out (the yard is fenced in). We finally had to get rid of him and his father. It broke my heart; but someone adopted them right away.

I'm sure Herc understood 'time to go home now Herc'. You'd say that and he'd toddle off towards his gate.
