LIFEs Little Frustrations

Happy Wednesday Everyone! we hit the mid 20s this morning with a bright sunny sky. Hope the flurries for tonight don't amount to anything. I enjoyed my coffee earlier and tried to catch up on my notifications. I always seem to fall behind. One of my goals for today was to get a few things done before my daughter takes her lunch break. I was happily making progress. Downloaded 2 new books on my Kindle, called my insurance agent to go over my house insurance renewal which is coming up (left a message) and figured I'd spend at least 20 minutes working on my latest crocheting project (a pretty yellow & white baby blanket). I love to crochet but I tend to use that time to let my mind wander. Of course a million thoughts were going through my mind when I realized I had missed a stitch and the count was off by one silly stitch. If you knit or crochet you know that even one stitch can make the whole thing off-kilter so I spent the rest of my time trying to figure out where I went wrong and had to rip out inches and inches of my hard work. Now I'm back to where I need to be and can continue. Guess I'll have to pay more attention and count my rows more frequently. There's nothing more frustrating than having to rip out work already done. At least it's a little frustration but it gave me something to talk about here Any little frustrations in your day today?

that doesn't sound good. Pour some baking soda and very hot water down it and maybe it will help clear it uo

No frustrations here today. I kit and crochet so I can relate on missing a stitch. I have had to take many rows out over the years because of missing a stitch.

I knew a fellow crocheter/knitter would understand having to rip out all that hard work for missing a stitch. Glad your day is frustration free

That to me would be as frustrating as cooking something on the stove and forgetting about it.

Missing a stitch happens so easily. At least crochet is easy to undo.

Crochet is easy to do compared to knitting (I assume). At least I caught it before it was more than halfway done.

@Marilynda1225 Are you saying you don't knit? I don't but I know how to and believe me, dropped or missed stiches are much harder to correct.

Oh, that would really frustrate me too! I guess my frustration is just getting this magnesium to kick in. I keep trying to get my energy back, but it’s slow going.

I just knocked over my husband's soda cup that he's decided to put on the floor. Now I'm working on cleaning it up. Good thing I wear house slippers.

@Marilynda1225 Yeah, I know. He likes ice in his drinks. I would've been skating around for sure if my bare foot found that.

I'm glad you found the mistake and have it fixed, even if you did have to redo some of the work. We were cleaning up the living room when I went to get my boxknife, and it wasn't where it was supposed to be... I suspect someone used it for something and didn't put it back when they were done. (I kept it in my toolbox on the back porch.) So I'm using a paring knife to slit the tape holding boxes together so I can disassemble them and add them to the trashcan outside. If I don't find my boxknife before we go to Walmart again, we'll have to buy another one.

I wonder who could have misplaced your boxknife? lol Isn't it a huge pain having to cut up all those boxes for trash? I know it's a pain for us eve with a boxknife,.

@Marilynda1225 Yes, it is. It's more of a pain when Pretty keeps all the boxes and won't let me get rid of them, just in case. We rarely need to send anything back, though.

I'm sorry you have to go back over the same work again. But as you say, maybe you might think it will turn out OK with just one stitch missing - but it won't. My frustration today is that I just can't get over the feeling that I just want to go back to sleep!
