A Typical Workday

A typical workday often feels like a quiet balancing act between routine and purpose. The morning usually begins in a rush—preparing, commuting, scanning schedules, mentally listing tasks that must be done before the day ends. There is comfort in familiarity: the same corridors, desks, colleagues, and daily rituals like greeting coworkers or opening a laptop and checking emails. At the same time, there is pressure—deadlines waiting, responsibilities piling up, expectations to meet. As the hours move forward, focus shifts from one task to another. Some moments are energizing—solving a problem, helping someone, completing a report, or seeing a plan finally work. These small wins bring a sense of fulfillment, reminding us why the job matters. Other moments feel heavy and repetitive, when the clock seems slow and fatigue creeps in. It is during these times that patience and perseverance are tested. No matter how tired I became, at the end of the day I felt so accomplished. How is your typical day with or without work? Photo is mine

I no longer have a routine and do things as I think of them or when I fell motivated to get up and do them. Most of my time is spent reading, doing various tasks around the house or talking on myLot.

@cherigucchi That part is nice. Getting older isn't nice, though.

I have a very easy life now I'm retired. I do have set things that I want to accomplish each day but there is rarely any stress.

I felt really accomplished back when I had a job. I only feel accomplished these days when I complete a lot of things that need to be done, and do them efficiently.

A lot less stressful than that. I've been able to work at my own pace and my morning and evening routines are pretty set. Enough for me to be happy with it. In-between has it's moments of uncirtinaty because I never know what George wants to do. So if we don't have an appoitment scheduled, then it's pretty much an open book.

I am a working mom and though 2 of my kids are working and have their own place to stay, it is still hard to manage everything at work and at home
