So, December /January people make a lot of resolutions ……some are kept, many are broken. One of the most popular New Year’s resolutions is to join a gym ….. Have you ever joined a gym ? Was it a New Year’s resolution ? Was there another reason ? How long did you continue at the Gym ? Just for the record …..I know I should exercise more , I’ve not been so active since my accident ….but I have never joined a gym ….i think they are expensive and don’t fancy spending hours in a room with other sweaty , red faced strangers …..

I never joined a gym as a new years resolution. I have no interest in going to the gym now (too old) but I do try to get in some sort of exercise every day even if it's just doing more steps and trying to get up and move more.,

I still belong to my gym, but I haven’t used it since covid. I have everything I need at home and walk a lot.

Are you paying for the gym if you still belong to it. ?

No, I’m not paying money for something I know I won’t stick with. I can’t do much anyway, but walk or get in a pool (according to my surgeon). I’ll just walk the dog as much as I can.

In 2002, and part of that was to join the basketball league. I had one around 2008 until I hurt my ankle. Never went back. A few months ago, there was a stationery bike on the side of the road. I did cycle a bit for a few weeks, but then went 10 days with horrible sleep, and now I wonder "What's the point?". There was one reason I used it, but it had nothing to do with getting in shape, etc... Kinda disgusting, so I'll just leave it there

I have had a gym membership for probably over 20 years now. I like to workout on an almost daily basis, not only to maintain my physical appearance, but it's a great stress release for me as well. I usually go late at night when there is hardly anyone else at the gym.
