75 years young

My parents’ friend turned 75 February 3rd and Saturday was his party at a restaurant. I needed a card so went to my local Duane Reade pharmacy to get it. I found a card that said 75 years young on it. I don’t remember what it said inside the card but the greeting was nice. I didn’t want to pay $6.52 for the card but that was the only card at the store for a 75th birthday so I took it. I didn’t have the Walgreens rewards card with me and asked the cashier if I could enter my phone number. That's another way to access your rewards account if you don’t have the card on you. The guy told me the card won’t give me any discounts. I should have told him I want to enter the number anyway but didn’t feel like arguing with the guy. Had I entered my phone number I would have earned points for the purchase and would have been able to use my $1 in rewards earnings toward the purchase. Celebrating the 75th birthday reminded me that my dad would have turned 75 this year. Unfortunately no celebration will be had as he passed away shy of his 71st birthday.

Wow $6.52 for a card is a lot of money. I wouldn't pay that much But 75 years old is indeed 75 years young When I am 75, if I am ever 75 I will still be young

I usually go to a card store that has cards for 50% off. But this was a last minute thing so didn’t have time to do so. I thought my mom had gotten a card already but she forgot.

We give our phone number at our store to get reward points. The card doesn't work (long story)

I know you miss your father, but I am glad you could be there for your parent’s friend’s birthday. That’s very special.

Yes. This guy and my dad and my mom used to work in the same company back in Belarus.

I bet if it was another cashier they’d have allowed me to enter my phone number.

That's a lot for a card but what a perfect greeting. My hubby would have been 85 this year. Sorry about your dad.
