Just watched Bad Bunny's halftime show

It is up on YouTube now. It is 13 minutes long. And yes it is all in Spanish. I remember Bad Bunny saying that Americans had 4 months to learn Spanish when he was announced as the headliner. A few days ago he said they didn't even need to know Spanish but they just needed to want to dance. I had never heard a single song of his until just now. I also don't speak Spanish. I've been to Cozumel, Mexico enough times to know basic words and phrases for things that I would need but I don't speak the language. That being said I thought the show was good. I'm sure I would have enjoyed it more if I knew what the heck he was singing about. I did like the dancing, the positivity and joy, the imagery, and the representation of the Americas at the end. Lady Gaga and Ricky Martin made guest appearances. Again I thought it was good but I bet I'd really love it if I knew what the songs were saying. That's not Bad Bunny's fault. Its mine.

I watched a few minutes, but I couldn’t get into something I don’t understand, and don’t normally enjoy. It’s just not my kind of music. But I can’t tell you how many halftime shows I’ve skipped because it wasn’t my kind of music. And I DiD understand what they were saying.

I get it. I do like Latin music because it is just so fun. I don't understand it but it just makes me want to dance. I can't wait to see what my students thought of it tomorrow

I am sure there will be a strong response. I didn't understand it either but left a minute and came back and it was still going and that part was like wow white America is not going to like that. They hate things they do not understand.

I think Los Lobos’ first EP is all in Spanish, too.

I would have shut it off if I couldn't understand it.

@NJChicaa I don't listen to music unless it's a friend playing or singing. (I will check out @TheHorse when he posts a new song but otherwise, I'm not interested.)

I am NOT a fan of rap. But I enjoyed the show. Even the gratuitous undulating booties just seemed like fun. I am also not a Lady Gaga fan. But let's face it: she can sing! Overall,it just seemed like fun to me. And I loved the sugar cane and other nuances.
