One of my favorite channels on YouTube is one called "Dirty Stay-ups". It's run by a gal named Crickett and comes on about midnight. I enjoy her humor and she is one of those types that seems to know a little about a lot of things. So, it is fun to listen to her streams. The other night she told the story of an encounter she had had that day with a woodpecker. She said it just suddenly ran into the sliding glass doors that lead out onto her deck off the kitchen. KAPLAT and knocked out fell onto the deck. She immediately went out and with gloved hands picked the poor thing up to examine it. He was wary, she was wary. But she was able to carry the bird around petting him and giving him a bit of a pep talk. In about 5 minutes or so he had regained his facilities and was able to fly away.
I love to hear about these interactions with wild things.

I wonder what makes them do that. Run into windows. Their eyes must not see that it is glass or something.
