So, one of my former pupils …..all grown up now …..has just opened a cafe ….but, it’s a cafe with a difference.
It’s a board game cafe.
I think the idea is that you rent table space for a certain length of time and then you can play board games for that time. The cafe part is seen as an extra really.
You may be surprised to hear that the cafe is doing extremely well and is very popular and has many visitors each day.

It is a good idea
But sadly it is fast becoming a saturated market.
Your area has at least 6.
I don't fancy it myself , just not into board games

Oh aye.
Wondered which one was nearest you
Thought we might accidentally meet for a game of snakes and ladders
Yvonne likes board games, does Rod?

Well there you go.
Our accidental meeting could be at a board game cafe.
Imagine getting talking and finding out we were both on Mylot

that's great idea. We had that here pre pandemic days and I remember my friend and his son would go there to play dungeons and dragons. They bring their own board games.
Two years ago we went to a theater in the mall and the snack bar there had this Jenga blocks on each of their table. My son and I had fun playing the Jenga while eating our snacks.

That would be nice to a world of internet and wide spread social media. People will eventually get bored and visit that place. I know I would.

People need to do more of that and less on computers. Sounds like fun. I love board games and card games; but I never could get my husband to play with me.

@Traceyjayne I learned how to play Spades, Hearts, Cribbage, etc. by playing the games on the computer.

There are a couple of those in Springfield (about 70 miles away) and another in Branson (about 50 miles away). I've driven past them but haven't stopped.
