So, I did manage to get out today, and got a few things done, but of course not everything on my agenda. One was getting m y haircut. There is a shop I have been to several times in the bigger town, but it isn't a regular just because the woman who works there..is weird and always talking or showing surgical pictures etc, while you are captive in the chair.(Today;s delight was colonoscopies).NO Thank you! So, to backtrackI was in town looking for her shop and called because there was no where to park around there. She said she had moved her business to a trailer,,I said oh do you live there? I think she said no, but of course she does, her shop was just in the front. Her trailer was pretty nice, but some of the other ones looked really rough. She was telling me about one that only had boards in it instead of flooring. You would think somebody who had their own business could do a bit better than a beat to Hell trailer park, but maybe not.

Lots of businesses move to cheaper premises because renting shops has got more expensive and energy costs can be prohibitive. Business rates can be killers. I'm sure of this had t been the best move for her she would have stayed in her shop

Oh I know. I know someone who had a dog grooming shop, but she has become a mobile groomer. She has a customized van. Much less overhead than the shop.

@snowy22315 Many many more businesses will do the same - just too many overheads, and town centres have less footfall because of our of town malls etc

That is hilarious! But if she does a good job and you’re happy with your hair, why not go to a hillbilly

I am gonna hold up a cross if she starts taking her surgical pics out again.

@DianneN Rather see a facelift than surgical scars.

She might not of been able to afford anything else right now. If she lives in the trailer she might be thinking that having the shop in front would cut expenses and even her time. Those are two things that just popped into my brain.

What? I can't imagine she thinks this is a good idea in any universe to talk about such procedures.

Nobody with any common sense would do it I don't know why anyone would take them in the first place let alone share with strangers.

Maybe she is losing customers due to her gross pictures. I used to go to these twins hair cut business, and one of the ladies (not the twins) that worked there smelled like a kennel. I sometimes couldn’t get out of her cutting my hair without being rude so I had to quit going.

She used to have other people working in the shop so I wasn't stuck with her, but now they are gone

I hope that at least she did a good job with your hair. I hate to talk about surgical stuff.

It would be interesting to know more about some of these people. There would be some good stories.

Rental costs can be very prohibitive. I'm glad she gives a good haircut. I need one badly.
