Connection interuptions can be jaring.

George and I were watching t.v. when it went quiet. I wasn't thinking much of it, because we're watching something on YouTube. Sometimes that'll happen when a video ends. Which is what I first thought. Nope. Internet connection went down for a few minutes.
While that's not really a problem normally, it can be jaring when it's unexpected. Someone's installing internet (same service I have) across the street. It might've caused a disruption based on how the houses are laid out. It's working now, though.

It definitely can be that way...and frustrating too if it's off for a good while.

@kaylachan Ours rarely goes out, but when it does it can be off for a while. Or there are days it keeps dropping

@MommyOfEli2013 I don't see much dropping. Since I switched to wire 3, I've rarely seen an outage. When they do maintance, it usually happens when most people are sleeping and we're warned about it in advance.

That's why I make sure we pay the phone plan that has HotSpot, because if internet goes spotty or goes down up here, it can be hours or days until it gets back on. I can't afford to not be able to work for that long.

Yeah. I have a phone, that has hotspot on it, too. But, I've found that streaming doesn't work as well on it. The t.v. takes more than my laptop needs.

@thislittlepennyearns I have Visiable by Verrzon and T-mobile. Both offer hot spot, but I still need fixed internet, because I have to run like ten devices. My laptop, three t.v.s, a security system, several smart plugs, it's a lot. I would love to use just my phone, but it couldn't run an entire household.

@kaylachan I don't know who your provider is for phone, but we have one that is LycaMobile which is $13 a month, and we get 40 gigs hotspot from them.
Our cells that we use for our phones. The one I mentioned was a review them and get a month free type situation... but our actual phones are Straight Talk who runs of Verizon and they can run my laptop, and our tv for streaming with very little issue. I try not to use it longer than an hour or two at a time though unless we have to. We have unlimited though. So it doesnt matter. But I'm sure if we hooked up more than just our tv to one of the hotspots it would probably slow it down a bunch.
a few years ago he child logged onto my hotspot and killed 10 gigs in about two hours because he was running his video game streaming off of it.
oops i didnt mean to ramble.

Yeah. I suspect the interuption had something to do with a new service being installed across the street. Possibly when the installer accessed the underground junction box.

If my Internet does not work, my system goes into anxiety, so I always hope that each day everything will work just right, Glad your interenet came back,

It's amazing that the world doesn't work without it. My laptop would be fine, because I can hots spot it. But, the t.v. is considerably harder.

@Ineeddentures I wouldcall that insane, to pay for two different providers, but I literally have two providers, because changing and getting our solar pannals to work is an exercises in patience.

We had that happen hear a few months ago. Someone was having theirs installed and made ours go out for a bit. Thank goodness. It could have been worse.
