Horrible news just got even more horrific

My downstairs neighbor was just here to pick up the cake I made for her. We haven't chatted in awhile so she sat down and was here for about an hour. She told me that her son (senior in high school) told her that a student had committed suicide. She didn't know who or male/female but that was what was going around the school. That school had a girl who killed herself a couple of years ago due to bullying. I don't know if this situation was due to bullying or if it was something else. While she was here the new science guy texted me asking if a particular woman worked with us. I said yes. He said that his son's school principal sent out an email but there were no specifics. I was like "what does she have to do with it?" He said he assumed she was the mother. Then I checked my school email and our building principal had sent out an email naming her and saying that her son had died by his own hand. I couldn't help but think of that new sweatshirt that I wore to work for the first time today. The front says "You are enough." The back says "Dear person behind me, the world is a better place with you in it. Love, the person in front of you." Several of my students remarked on it. I heard a few kids I don't know talking about it too. What a tragedy.

I am sorry to learn that some teenagers take their own lives due to being bullied.

That's generational sadness. All the kids that person could have borne. My condolences.
