My house is just 1 kilometre from the highway connector road. It's a busy road. I can hear sirens of different kinds coming from the road. Mainly , they are ambulance sirens. But quite often VIP convoys pass this way. Ministers of the state government and members of the Legislative Assembly zoom through this road. About three months before even the President of India Mrs Droupadi Murmu came here to take part in the convocation of the Agricultural University near our home. What makes my heart miss a beat is the ambulance siren. The district medical college and hospital is just 12 km from here and the rural hospital is 5 km. There were times when I had to take children from the foster care home to the hospital at odd hours. Once I stayed up all night to be with a 5 year old boy child and took him to the hospital at 4 in the morning. Similarly, I had to rush a girl child at night. I was grateful that a nurse worker volunteered to be with the child in the hospital. The child was released after two nights. I pray every morning that all children, inmates and workers remain safe from unexpected emergencies. However, rarely a day passes when I don't hear sirens!

@franxav I must admit that I do too and I also wonder what has happened and if it's been a fatal accident etc etc

We hear quite a few sirens here too and I always wonder whose life is being turned upside down.

That’s got to be disheartening. But it says a lot that you remember to pray for everyone that crosses those paths.

I believe I must be of help in whatever little way I can. And I feel praying is the best thing I can do.
