Getting Some Tools for Gardening

Perhaps I have inherited some liking for gardening from my father and grandfather. Though they were tea estate staff they grew vegetable , maize , sweet potato and casava in the land available to them. I have planted a few tomato, brinjal and chilli plants outside my house. I need to work more on the soil and therefore I am getting some farming tools. I already had some. I got some of them repaired. I have given a spade to the blacksmith in the local market to sharpen. I know I will not be a big farmer but I just want to have a 'kitchen garden'. I will also have some flowers in the front yard. There's a joy in watching the plants grow you work on. I believe you will agree.

It's relaxing to work in a garden. It's also very satisfying to grow some produce you can use. Good luck with your plants.

I've always liked growing some tomatoes and sweet peppers, even when I really didn't have room for a garden. On the farm when I was growing up, mom and dad had huge gardens and fruit trees. They were growing enough to feed our large family (14 boys and 2 girls. I am the next-to-the-youngest). I still have plants growing in the kitchen here and some of them produce edible leaves, roots and stems. Some of them are just for looking at, though.
