Strange and worrying side effects.

I read yesterday about a man who, as a result of taking drugs prescribed to help with movement issues due to Parkinson's disease, went out of control and spent £60,000 on porn and prostitutes. This was totally out of character for him and devastated his family. Today I heard on the radio about an investigation into such drugs and the adverse effects they can have. Then I remembered that my brother who has Parkinson's was warned about the side effects of the drugs he has been prescribed to help with his movement issues. He was warned that they can greatly increase sexual desire to the point of the person getting out of control. He was warned also of the possibility of developing a gambling addiction. My brother lives in and is treated in France, and at first I thought this was just the French being preoccupied with things libidinous, but it seems that even those on this side of the English Channel can be thusly effected, and Brexit has not solved the problem for the English.

Goodness! Sometimes they don't do enough reasearch on these things. Or they don't trial them for long enough periods.

I can never tell if you’re kidding, but I don’t want to look this story up as it will be in my search history, and I don’t know how to clear that.

@xFiacre Wow! That stop smoking medicine years ago had similar side effects. I think it was called Chantix.

Oh my goodness! That's horrible. I hope that the families of these patients keep tabs on them.
