Question of the Day- Time's Regrets

Time is so fleeting. Even a full lifetime seems not enough. If you're a fan of CHER, you may remember hearing the song, "If I could turn back time."
So, it got me to thinking about time and what people wish they could have done differently if they could rewind time and have a do over? Here are a few examples:
1.*Taking more risks in life; whether it be a job change or wrong relationship, some people wish they hadn't been so cautious in their decision making.
2.*Prioritized my health by eating better and exercising more. They stated better food decisions may have prevented them from having a chronic disease.
***For me, my one regret was to have saved more and invested my money earlier in life. If I had the financial knowledge back then that I had today, I would of had a nice retirement nest egg by now.
Unfortunately, we can't go back in time, but wouldn't be nice to revisit a special feeling, correct a mistake, or for some, just go back to when things were innocent, happier, or less complicated than today.
-How about you. If you could step back into the past, what would you change?

I wish I had known how to get my parents to put me in counseling, and to get me on antidepressants. They finally did that at aged 15, but my formative years were not good. They (doctors) don’t like to give those kind of medications to kids, but they would have me.
I also regret getting into a car April 18, 1999. (Life changing car wreck)
And I regret helping certain people. I think God blessed the intent, but some people are ungrateful, and some people just take advantage of you.
I can’t regret not saving as I never had any money to save. I got sick early, and basically sucked all the money my parents had into paying my medical bills.

Thanks for sharing. Our life is the sum total of all the decisions we make every day, and without knowledge of the possibilities of those decisions, we must live with them. At times, a sad reality.
Another past regret I had was when I got two job offers at the same time. If I could go back, I'd like to choose the other job to see how it would have turned out. The one I choose out of loyalty, because it was offered first, wound up with me getting laid off.

@dgobucks226 I’m sorry that job got you laid off. Loyalty would have probably swayed me too.

Very true. Just a question for discussion. Life is full of tough decisions, and nothing makes them easy. Some decisions we can correct others are life changing.

@dgobucks226 - when it was time to go to the University, in Europe there were those students protests, my parents told me that it was too dangerous. That is the reason why I did not follow my dream.

Very nice aspiration! Sometimes life impacts our decisions in a way we cannot control.
Job choices and pursuing higher education are common decisions people may make which can have everlasting consequences.
Thanks for your input!

@LadyDuck I see. How unfortunate for you. I imagine at the time it was devastating not to be able to attend.

So many things I wouldn't know where to start. While I did well career-wise, I wish I could have finished the last year of college and gotten a degree. That's just one of the many things.

@dgobucks226 I would love to not do some things I did and do some things I wish I had done...but that's everybody. We are not perfect and don't live perfect lives.

@LindaOHio Yes, life itself is a never-ending road of twists and turns.

I see. Sorry you were not able to achieve this goal. Sometimes life's priorities take over the decisions we would like to make at that time.
Other things people mentioned they would change if they could go back in time were:
-Spent more time with loved ones instead of working so much.
-Document more special moments with photos or journals.

I don't know about this
One small change to the past may have altered my future
So nothing, I would change nothing at all
