Thank God for the second phone

Friend pays for a second phone line in here which I usually think of essentially as a waste of money, but since he's paying I don't worry about it. However, when I misplace my cellphone either in here or the car it can be worth its weight in gold. Sometimes I think it is worth it just for that. Sis and bro in law would be lost without two phones. They are constantly losing and calling each other's phones. Do you have phones you use when you've managed to misplace the main phone?

We only have our iPhones and landline in each home. Hubs refuses to get “with it”, but it’s a great convenience.

I like that I can use my old phones of years gone by. I have one cordless by my bed, so I don't have to worry about silencing my cell phone at night.

@snowy22315 I turned my phone in when I got the latest model. It didn’t work well by then.

No, I got rid of my landline several years ago, and just have the one cell phone. It’s only annoyed me once. I couldn’t find it, my neighbor’s wouldn’t answer their doors, so I had to drive to my dad’s, ask him to call it, and then drive back. Two rings, and I found it. I was really annoyed with myself. I think that was a good two years ago, and I’ve been extra careful since.

How far is it to your dad's? I would just ask your management office or anybody to call it for that matter. I lost mine in the car once in front of the store and just asked another customer to call it. I know you are leery of some of your neighbors but they can't all be bad.

@snowy22315 I knocked on ten doors! No one would answer. The one lady who I know would have answered wasn’t home, unfortunately. And it was a Saturday. The management office was closed. He lives about 15 minutes away.

@AmbiePam That's not that far, for some reason, I thought he was like 45 minutes or an hour away.

We have had to do that. Sometimes unsuccessfully if the phone is silenced. I lost mine in the car, silenced, once. But there was an alarm set (to play Swago) and so, in the dark, the alarm went off and kept going off and flashing til I found it.

It'a amazing how they can disappear in the car, They seem to find an available crevice and hide there.

It is good when you have someone to call it, but I like having the second line so I don't have to ask anybody.

My main phone is my landline. My cell phone is a backup.

My family and I call each other all the time looking for our phones. It's always a relief to hear it ringing.

I haven't had a landline in many years. I have misplaced my phone here at home a few times but it's always turned up the same day. Son is here and I had him call my phone once, and I have called his more than once, too.

Oh I have never lost in for more than an hour or two, but sometimes after I have come in and it is dark, I realize it is still in the car. I don't like going out after dark here. I find it a bit intimidating when the animals that could be about I can't see.I uaually wait until morning.
