Balloons and Kids Are Not a Good Combination

Today is Valentine's Day, so the Mexican restaurant where we ate lunch had tied one red balloon to each table, making it look very festive. But a woman came in with her two kids at a booth across the restaurant and untied the balloons to give them to her kids. One, that was wrong. Two, naturally the kids let go of the strings and the balloons floated up to the ceiling. Now here comes Number Three - the stupid mother of the children climbed up on the seat of the booth to retrieve the balloons and when she couldn't reach them, she climbed up and stood on top of the table she was eating on to get them. I wouldn't be honest if I didn't say I was hoping she might fall. But seriously - what was she thinking?

I always tied balloons to Pretty's wrist and made her leave them alone. I wouldn't have taken decorations down, though. I might have asked if they had an extra one I could buy, though. Or taken Pretty to Walmart and bought her a balloon after we finished eating.

That is ridiculous. I guess it’s possible it was a babysitter, but either way, better judgment was not used.

That woman was not playing with a full deck, and I think the restaurant manager should have told her to leave with her kids,

As you say, that's wrong on so many counts.
