So on a Saturday night The Mister and I usually go to the local pub. I know I have posted about this before ….they have live music and The Mister tends the real fire.
Anyway, one of the barmaids is expecting a baby ….in three weeks time.
We realised tonight that The Mister and I know her Mom.
Her Mom and the barmaid were in the pub tonight ……the connection was made.
Anyway…..the. Barmaid …called Maimee ….said she has chosen the name for her baby …..BLAKE.
What do you think about that name ?

@traceyjayne Not so fussed about that. Blake Edwards. When we lived in Paris in the 80s a lot of kids got named after characters from American soaps - Sue-Ellen was popular. And Madonna.

There are all sort of names everywhere. I heard that here a pair or communist parents called their poor baby Stalin. Thanks be given that here you can change your name.

If that's what she likes, then it's a good name.
Isn't it weird how you know somebody from somewhere and then realize you know their family from some other context? That happens to me all the time.

It is a bit crazy …when I saw them together there is no mistaking they are Mother and daughter, they do look very similar. I’d only met the Mother a couple of times and that was a couple of years ago. The Mister knew her years ago, they used to use the same pubs etc.

@Traceyjayne I worked with a guy for several years before I heard somebody call him by his last name and asked if he was related to somebody I used to work with... He said they were his brother and then we started chatting about things his brother used to do at work.
When Pretty reached the age to want to start dating, she'd come home and ask if we were related to some family and I'd tell her they were her cousins.
She finally started dating some dude that lived hundreds of miles away to get away from family members. It was hilarious!

I think it's a nice name. Names seem to become fashionable then go out of fashion again.

I have known a few Blake’s but not many , it’s quite rare here. When I asked where she had got the name from …..thinking maybe a tv show ….she said she had just heard it somewhere and liked it. I like it.

No, she’s not working, she was just in the pub with her Mom. Although last time we saw her working was only three weeks ago.
