Some people on here have written about having some immune system issues. I thought I would share some nutrients that added to our diets can help to strengthen that very important body system. Here are some:
* Echinacea - This herb was found to reduce the risk of a cold by 58% in 14 different clinical studies. You can get it in pill form or herb and put it in capsules yourself. It is also found in several OTC cold remedies.
* Zinc - is one of the most essential minerals needed for the development of immune cells. It has also been found to reduce incidents of respiratory tract infections. Turmeric curcumin is a supplement that has 95% curcuminoids and a very good way to get zinc.
Elderberry - Studies show that it shortens a colds duration and severity. It protects against influenza viral strains and can prevent upper respiratory tract infections. It tastes great and the extract form is better than cheaper powder forms.
Glutamine - Glutamine is critical for cell growth and supports immune cells such as T-cells and B-cells when fighting off a virus. The liver, kidney, gut, and immune system all require glutamine.

I realized that as I grew older, my immune system was getting lower. I hardly get sick, catch a cold or flu. I used to exercise a lot even though I'm eating unhealthy food. Don't have a weight problem at all but I lack exercise nowadays because I'm too busy and too lazy to find time to do so.
I'd better get some supplements.

This is interesting. I've taken these at different times in my life, but don't right now.
