KANLAON VOLCANO ASHFALL ALERT!

Kanlaon volcano erupted at 4:40 PM today February 19, 2026, Thursday. While heading home, our 3rd elder daughter who is teaching at Risario Elementary School, La Castellana, Negros Occidental overheard the deafening sound coming from the volcano. She took her phone and took the photo of the fuming volcano. Our place is one of the areas that are affected by ashfall. Other places are the following: In NEGROS OCCIDENTAL: • La Castellana • La Carlota City (where I live) • Pontevedra • San Enrique • Valladolid • Bago City • Pulupandan • Hinigaran In GUIMARAS: • Nueva Valencia • Sibunag The people residing in the said areas are advised to wear masks to avoid inhaling harmful ashes which may cause respiratory problems.
