Dinner today ….turkey sandwich, french fries and grapes to follow…..

United Kingdom
February 20, 2026 7:05am CST
I’m just about to have my dinner / lunch …..I realised that I often talk about my evening meal but not very often tell you what I have in the middle of the day ….unless I’m at Moms in which case it’s usually baguettes. Anyway, today I am at home and I have Turkey sandwich and a bag of french fries….the crisps not chips….and a small bunch of red grapes. I guess as it’s so cold I really should be having soup but I just fancy this sandwich….l What are you having today ?

It's 8 am here and I ate a sausage, egg and cheese biscuit for breakfast after I took my morning meds. A turkey sandwich does sound good for lunch, though. I also have red grapes I can eat after the turkey sandwich.

When I first heard of a sausage biscuit I imagined it like a kind of chocolate chip cookie but with bits of sausage instead of chocolate chips!

@DaddyEvil Yes I know that now. A 'biscuit' is more like a scone.

It is only 8:57 AM and had breakfast less than an hour ago, but I made some goulash last night and will probably have that for lunch.

Are the French fries like real fries that are cooked in oil and served hot? Your lunch sounds delicious! I’m having a glass of Elderflower tonic over ice. It’s so delicious.

@Traceyjayne I am always getting confused. Thanks for explaining. You’d think I would know better after my few trips to England. Would you believe my refreshing drink is produced with elderflowers from the UK?

@DianneN I never know when I’m posting if I should explain everything as I go along or just leave it and answer any questions. I guess it just makes everything a bit more fun when we get confused. I often read something about someone’s food and think ……’ they have eaten what !!! ‘…..then I realise they have a different name for what I’m thinking about.

No …..this might get confusing knowing we called items different things ….. They are a type of crisp ( potato chip ) that are shaped like french fries. They are cold in a packet. Your drink sounds very refreshing.

@Traceyjayne Because I decided to try the 5:2 "diet" about 5 years ago and I decided to stick with it.
