I can't get mad at such things

The children of my foster family are having their annual exams. Yesterday was a free day. A free day for them means duty doubled for me. I have to be watching over them. Yesterday morning I gave an hour of maths practice to them. I sent them for their breakfast at nine and I sat to have my own. They had their breakfast in ten minutes and began to play with kittens and puppies . That's when the accident happened! A ten year old girl brought the eight year old boy ( Chhotu - the smallest one) telling that he got cat nail injury. Not again! I got a little irritated. But as I said I can't get mad at such things. This is a part of my work. Many new puppies and kittens have been born. Can't stop children from playing with them. They wouldn't listen. Now I have to take the boy to the local hospital. I was back from the hospital after three hours. Three hours, you might wonder. That's the way government hospitals work. No. Not slow but the crowd . You need to stand in a long queue to get your ticket. Next, stand in the line to meet the doctor. And next , go to the counter to get the medicines recorded. Next, present yourself at the emergency section where the attending nurse reads the ticket and gives the indicated injection. This was the first injection. I need to bring the child to the hospital for three more doses. I was home by 1 PM to other foster home duties!

Oh dear! What a performance. You did well not to lose patience with the children.

Goodness, that’s a lot for a cat scratch. I would have thought some antibiotic ointment and he would have been fine, but I guess it was much worse than that. You are a good person.

That sounds like such a busy and challenging day, but it’s clear the children are lucky to have you looking after them so patiently and responsibly.
