Yesterday was international mother tongue day

February 21, 2026 9:09pm CST
Yesterday was international mother tongue day. When I asked my mother what was the first word I uttered she said maa. Maa in bengali means mother. So it is the language which the child connects with mother and father for the first time in life. So it has huge value even more value than the official language of exchange. I know English, Latin, hindi, urdu but my mother tongue is bengali

When I was small, I was very impressed if anyone spoke more than one language but it's quite common now for people to speak at least another one.
