Back in the day--2002 or 2003--I was living at a crazy coworker's house. A huge snowstorm was about to blast the area and I didn't want to be stuck in the house with her for days on end. My solution was to pack a bag, get my cat, buy an 18-pack of beer, and head to my sister's house. If I was going to get snowed in then I would rather be stuck with her.
School was closed for the entire week! I was at her house the whole week. At the time I had a Jeep Cherokee. Her loser boyfriend who lived there took it several days to go shovel in one of the retirement communities. We had a blast. We watched the Lord of the Rings trilogy. We played games. We even made a cake without having any eggs. (we had to eat it with a spoon b/c it fell apart) My cat Sake became buddies with her cat Jameson.
We are under a blizzard warning today and expecting up to 2 feet of snow. I just texted her that I feel the need to gather the cats, get an 18 pack, and head to her house. She responded with a laughing emoji and said that she was just telling her husband about that whole experience.
And I actually might have done it aside from the fact that my mother lives with them now. She's been in Florida for weeks but is back here for my nephew's birthday. I'm not trying to get snowed in with her. No thank you.

That blizzard sounds like a wonderful, fun time. You always make it sound like you don't get along with your sis, it sounds like you have a real closeness though or did. I love my sister and she's a very good person..but we haven't had fun together like that since we were kids. Ever since she's been married, she never wants to have just a sister get together, or suggests a trip or anything. She doesn't like me. It hurts my feelings.

I remember the blizzard of 77-78. I would have been stuck at work; but the telephone man offered to drive me home. He couldn't get down my street; so I walked in knee/thigh-deep s**w. By the time I got home I could barely breathe. My hubby was so mad at me; but I wasn't going to spend the night at work. I like your story.

It would have been great if you could relive those memories. But people, situation and relationship changes with time. Just cherish those memories .
