Do You Keep Cash Lying Around the House?

Hubby and I were just discussing how much cash we had on hand and how much we felt safe having in the house vs depositing in the bank.
I am one of the few of my friends who carries cash. L never has any money and when she owes me money always wants to Venmo me (which I don't do) or write me a check, which is inconvenient for me.
Whenever I travel I stock up on $1 bills because they're good for tipping and for trinkets in the Caribbean.

I always keep $100 in cash just in case, it stays saved.

Right now I do not have any at home, but have around forty dollars in my billfold. I would like to use cash more.

I use mainly my card now but I keep a small amount of cash in my purse. I probably would have just a couple of hundred pounds at home ….for emergencies .

My parents were business people. My mom had her own store and our hometown is a small town with only one rural bank which my parents don't trust with their big earnings. They visit the city twice a week to deposit and the rest of the days, we have huge amount of money in the house.

I have cash in my purse and there is always a certain amount of loose change around.

I just have some coins in a house and a few dollars in a wallet at home.

Me and Yvonne would probably have maybe £500 in the house between us
I have £100 on my wallet.

That makes sense, especially for travel, since having small bills on hand is so convenient for tips and quick purchases.
