It's president's day. Last night I took a bag of Bing cherries from the back freezer. This morning I put Gregorian chant on the computer since it's also Lent and got busy. I always look like I've had a tragic accident after I put cherries. Some of the kitchen cabinets also looked murdered. In about half an hour a good enough cherry pie sat in front of me. Fred cat stretched up cause he wanted to snag the measuring cup of shortening. Yesterday I toted up the year I found Fred on the busy highway and realized he must be around ten!! I still think of him as a young guy but I guess not. Last night I re-wrote a piece on the time I flew from WA state to Missouri. My Mom lived there years ago. My first effort was a travelogue. This time around its a reaching into sentiment and pie making and the realization that would be the final time when my Mom would be my Mom. After that week with her, she'd come back to my state and dementia would have robbed her of the person who raised me. Today was breezy and chilly. I made it outside for a few minutes anyway, letting the cats out for a quick green adventure. I hope you all here are doing well.
