The Bone Marrow Fad

I have heard of this popular fad for several years. It began in about 2014-2015 at a cafe in New York City specializing in Paleo diet trends. It started in the 19th century as a "beef tea" medicinal. I haven't tried it but I don't think I'd like it. I've seen it advertised on HSN and wondered about it. But I find that animal bones can store toxins and heavy metals such as lead and cadmium. We all know about lead but cadmium I had to research I found that it is a toxic silvery-white metal used in different industries. "Known for its harmful health effects and environmental impact". The risk in eating marrow soup is low with moderate consumption, but I don't think I'd want to chance it. I would have to be assured the bones were from healthy, grass-fed animals. What are your thoughts?

I don't have an opinion about this because I've never heard of it before. I always assumed beef tea was just beef broth. We buy beef broth and use it as the liquid instead of water when we make beef stew or beef soup.
