The Bone Marrow Fad

I have heard of this popular fad for several years. It began in about 2014-2015 at a cafe in New York City specializing in Paleo diet trends. It started in the 19th century as a "beef tea" medicinal.
I haven't tried it but I don't think I'd like it. I've seen it advertised on HSN and wondered about it. But I find that animal bones can store toxins and heavy metals such as lead and cadmium. We all know about lead but cadmium I had to research I found that it is a toxic silvery-white metal used in different industries. "Known for its harmful health effects and environmental impact".
The risk in eating marrow soup is low with moderate consumption, but I don't think I'd want to chance it. I would have to be assured the bones were from healthy, grass-fed animals.
What are your thoughts?

I don't have an opinion about this because I've never heard of it before. I always assumed beef tea was just beef broth. We buy beef broth and use it as the liquid instead of water when we make beef stew or beef soup.

We have done the same. When I was cooking I would save the juice from beef dishes and such in a container in the freezer. I would use it instead of the cubes you buy. Less salt.

@celticeagle Pretty doesn't add enough salt to soups and stews she makes so I taste them and then salt my portion to suit my tastes.

Interesting. I guess living on a farm you see a lot of this sort of thing.

My father and I love bone marrow soup but they come from grass fed cows. We didn't eat them often though. Maybe once a month when my father would feel like having them.

Bone marrow doesn't tempt me at all. From what I've seen, it has a lot of fat in it too.

I have no idea about this at all
Bone Marrow, my dog used to eat it
I don't think I have ever eaten it.
All the beef products and dairy products I buy would be from grass fed animals
Still none the wiser about bone marrow

Dogs like it and I don't. That's what I know. Grass fed is best.
