More people are now cancelling their hotel bookings ahead of the 2026 world cup in the United States of America. Are the visitors scared of what will happened to them? The main reasons for the cancellation are the possibility of many tourists being arrested and detained by ICE agents.

Over 150 million ticket requests have been submitted, making it the highest demand in FIFA World Cup history.
The tournament is currently oversubscribed by more than 30 times based on the number of tickets available.
The number of cancelled bookings doesn't even scratch the surface.
Hotels and travel companies got greedy.
Early take up of hotels is usually speculative with a cancel clause written in
I think it was expected that a large number of bookings would be cancelled
150 million ticket requests
Nothing to do with ICE

@LadyDuck
Well that was bound to happen
I was hoping Scotland fans would boycott the tournament due to the ticket pricing structure

@Ineeddentures To be honest I cannot understand why FIFA World Cup is organized in a country that does not give a dam of European Football.

I dont think that is the case. Footy fans come in on 90 day holiday visas.

@ogbenishyna44 - It happened to different people from Europe. The ICE agents stop them and put in jail waiting to check their position. I would never go there now.
