Here is a wild thought: don’t hike in that kind of weather!

Glad the hiker was rescued but I have always thought people should not go hiking alone,

He shouldn’t have been hiking in that kind of weather. Luck was on his side having the Garmin inReach. Too bad he put his rescuers at risk and wasted money for the helicopter.

It sounds as if this hiker was hiking alone; always a dangerous thing to do in bad inclement climate conditions. At least, he had communication equipment with him, and I bet he was glad that he did, and so was rescued.

The hiker is lucky that he had something to communicate with.
