I Forgot That I'm Allergic to Fish

In my defense, the food allergy testing listed salmon, shrimp, shellfish, etc. It didn't say "all fish." But yesterday I tried a fried fish sandwich (cod? tilapia?) at Jaggers and it was good. Until it wasn't. 20 minutes later I had a digestive system reaction. Hubby ate the same thing so it wasn't food poisoning. I'm pretty sure it was an allergic reaction to fish. So now among the two dozen other things I've got to remember not to eat and check the ingredients in everything I ate, I have to add regular old fish sandwiches. Is it any wonder that I don't like food? It's getting to difficult to know what I can and can't eat and what I will or won't have a reaction to.

I don't forget I'm allergic to fish/shellfish. I break out in an itchy red rash and then my throat starts swelling shut. The last time that happened, my sister tricked me into eating a seafood medley she'd made and then started yelling that she knew I wasn't allergic to seafood. Pretty and I dragged her out to her car so she could take me to the hospital. Now, my sister gets mad if I won't sample foods she cooks and brings to me. I told her she'd lost my trust and wouldn't ever get it back!

Gladfully I am not allergic to fish but I think I am allergic to canned peanuts becauseI kept on coughing when I ate them. The peanuts which are still in their shells are fine for me. No cough g at all.

I think that’s the main reason that, as I get older, I eat the same things. I like this and it doesn’t hurt my digestive system or cause an allergic reaction, so it’s good.

I’m sorry you got ill. I love fish / seafood but suddenly some of it made me ill. After not eating it for about 6 years I am reintroducing it one at a time ….small portions too. Fingers crossed I’ve been okay so far.

I'm sorry you can't eat fish. I've had to cut a lot of favorites out of my diet.

I am so sorry you had an allergic reaction to the fish sandwich. =( I am allergic to shell fish, I ate shrimp once and blew up like a balloon! First time I tried it and had no idea. It was scary.

I would be unhappy if I had an allergy to fish for the first time I am going to put in an order for frozen breaded fish fillets with my next grocery order,
