More Memories

For some reason I was thinking of Aunties Arvilla today. She was a neighbor lady my grandparent's had. She was so sweet and kind. She liked me and enjoyed my little girl visits. She had a nice home, and I enjoyed seeing all the nice things. She would play the piano sometimes and introduced me to the only religious song I ever keep as an old favorite. I'm not religious so such songs aren't common to me at all. But The Old Rugged Cross is a favorite of mine to this day. I have a lot of memories of dear Auntie Arvilla. She even came to visit when I moved to Pocatello when mom remarried. I was about 9. She bought me several things to spruce up my bedroom. And some new clothes. She had children and grandchildren but still enjoyed other children as well. When I grew up and had my mother's memorial after she had passed, she came. Her son and his wife were with her. She seemed to have Alzheimer's. Didn't know me and asked who I was. It was very sad. I tried to call one time to see how she was doing. It is one thing about cell phones I don't like. It's very hard to track down people when their phone service goes from the old landlines to a cell. I used to know what part of town a person lived in just by the prefix to their phone number. Not so anymore.

What nice memories. I'm sorry she seemed to have Alzheimer's. You could probably still track her down.

That's funny! Now, no matter where a person happens to be, you can still talk to them, whether they're home or not. It doesn't matter if you know where they are when you call them.
