Having a certain blood type can mean you are more apt to have certain health issues. Those with O blood types have a lower risk of coronary heart disease. It. Is thought that those with other blood types are more likely to have higher cholesterol. A study showed that those with AB blood have more memory problems than any other. Pancreatic cancer is more of a risk to those with A AB or B types. Chances are higher that you'll live longer if you have O type blood. Type 2 Diabetes seem more prominent in those with blood types A and B. The risk of having a stroke goes up if you have type AB blood. Doctors think this could due to this type being more appt to clot than other types. Did you find this interesting? Think there is truth in it?

Most people don't bother asking what their blood type is when they donate or their doctor takes their blood for tests.

Yes, I believe those facts. They wouldn't be called "facts" if they weren't true. Pretty and I both have O- blood. Your natural hair color when you're young also says things about your general health and the possibility of having/developing certain diseases as you grow older, too. (I wrote a long discussion about that back when I was on Bubblews. If I can find it, I'll send you that discussion.)

@celticeagle No problem. Check this article out. You might also want to check into getting the shot to keep from getting shingles. Doctors have found that getting vaccinated against shingles also confers some protection from developing dementia in old age. I've had shingles three times so jumped at the chance to get the vaccine when I turned 50. Now, it seems that may help me in other ways. https://med.stanford.edu/news/all-news/2025/03/shingles-vaccination-dementia.html

Ask your doctor. If he doesn't have the info he can tell you where to go.

Genetics and lifestyle can play a huge role as well. My brother has a rare blood type and he donated blood for years. He is turning 79 this year and not in the best of health, but he has surpassed the 76 average mark.
