If you’re a kid, maybe you won’t feel so bad listening to songs from 1986…until you realize that was now forty years ago! Unlike the 1976 list, 1986 is going to be a deep dive into college rock. That’s what I was into then, and 1986 was a magical year for college rock. A number of acts who were still playing in clubs then released albums and went on to be arena acts. And, as you’ll see as the month progresses, I was listening to anything that I found good…so you’ll find classic rock and country in here as well! For your teaser, here’s one of the big hits from that year. Eddie Money was part of my first-ever rock concert in 1978. Here he is with Ronnie Spector and “Take Me Home Tonight.”

Love this song. I remember a friend of mine talkin about how Ronnie was gonna sue Eddie if she didn't get some credit for her part in the song, I'm glad she got her way. She had that sound that ya can't forget. Thank heavens for YouTube, I've been hearing a lot of the music I missed between 74 and 84.

The 80's is when I was all over with my music. I'll always be a 70's rock person, but spent a lot of time listening to country and western, some rock like Billy Idol, Queen, Bruce Springsteen, and Tom Petty.

What I liked about the song was the female singer who sang some of the lyrics.
