No more cards

Philippines

Before my mother's birthday I spent an entire day to buy her a simple card. I went to the nearest gift and school supplies. No one has stock. I guess it's different from ten or fifteen years ago, there's no one making cards anymore. Post cards still exist though because my brother sends it to mom every time he goes abroad. Honestly, these days I just greet the person through face-book Happy Birthday and not sent those e-cards. Should have went for flowers, maybe for next year. Have a nice day

Most people don't send physical cards anymore. The "get lost in the mail" , take forever to arrive at the specified destinations or get opened at the Post Offices to steal money or debit cards from them. Some nice flowers always works best, anyway. I hope your mom had a wonderful birthday. .

That’s such a foreign concept to me because cards are plentiful around here. It’s a way, in this day and age, to say, hey, I care enough to go to the trouble when other people don’t anymore.

I haven't been to the National Bookstore yet. Maybe they still have a few cards left @AmbiePam but wrapping gifts places here they no longer exist.

It depends on the situation. Though we greet the birthday celebrant via social media, yet we send them flowers, chocolate and of course gifts.

Well, this is different because it's my mother and she's here. it's easy to just greet people in facebook.
