A relative of a Jacksonville Florida resident who went missing on Valentine's Day after a breakup with his friend called the Putnam County Sheriff's Office (PCSO) to try to find him.
The PCSO asked the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office (JSO) after the PCSO officers sent a drone to try to find him but it came up empty.
The JSO officers found the auto of the missing man on Wednesday February 25 near a borrow pit where the depressed man was in quicksand up to his shoulders.
Fire crews and rescue crews brought in ladders and other supplies to get him out of danger.
The rescued man was taken by an air ambulance to a trauma center in critical condition. It is hopeful that the rescued man finds help he needs to make a full recovery soon.

The rescue team admitted that the rescue mission was very hard to accomplish.

That is a horrible situation, and I have always dreaded being trapped in quicksand myself too.
He was lucky to have been rescued before he sunk further in, and let's hope that he can make a full recovery, as well.
